What you can build
Open Monograph Press supports the management and publication of scholarly books. It suits presses coordinating proposals, editorial review, production files and an online catalog through a self-hosted publishing system.
Technical planning
Review metadata, contributor roles and publication formats, and preserve manuscript and production files through a tested independent backup process.
Open the official documentation
Confirm the application release, PHP extensions, database, scheduled tasks and access your project needs. Application editions, licenses and extensions are separate from hosting.
Before you launch
Create one complete piece of content and test it with a reader.
Build one representative piece of learning or reference content. Have a contributor create it, a reviewer approve it and a learner or reader use it. Verify exports and role permissions before importing institutional records.
Compare knowledge & learning
Test contributor and learner roles, file uploads, export formats and any scheduled work. Course participation and media storage can place very different demands on the same platform.
Confirm your Open Monograph Press release and deployment requirements with the team before setup. The hosting option on this page is a starting point; installer availability, compatibility and installation support depend on the application and plan.
Visit the official Open Monograph Press project for current releases, installation instructions and license terms. Commercial editions and paid extensions may have separate requirements.
